| Based on the analysis of relevant documents and typical cases of services for children and young adults in American public libraries, this paper summarizes nine characteristics of these services, including having a long history, valuing the instruction on services for children and young adults, ensuring personnel allocation and specific competencies of librarians, setting up exclusive spaces and comprehensive construction requirements, providing differentiated and idiomatical services, encouraging young adults'' involvement in management, paying attention to the quality evaluation of services, emphasizing cooperation with other organizations, carrying out professional education, and so on. 62refs. |
