| Abstract: |
| Being a celebrated political activist,thinker and scholar in the modern history of China,Liang Qichao was alsoa bibliognost,an erudite and a man oveiflowing with talent.Throughout his life,he left to the world a variaty ofwritings convering economic,philosophical,cultural and educational subjects which numbered about 14 millionwords and more,among which there are more than 10 books on bibliography,such as:Abstracts of Western Books.Bibliographical List of Western Learning,etc.He held that bibliography should serve the social change and make things easy for the user's convenience.He also put emphasis on the bibliographic function of guiding the user to read.His theory of bibliographical classification set a precedent for the scientific system of bibliographical classification in China which has made a greate impact on the development of modern and contemporary bibliography of China.21 refs. |
