| Papermaking and the art of printing are the two of the four great inventions of China.The collection of papersconcerning these two great inventions discussed by Prof.Qian Cunxun includes 16 peices of papers published in aperiod of 30 years and falls into 4 chapters:ancient bookd and records,paper and ink,printing and the impacts ofthem.One of the outstanding features of the collection is its full and accurate contents with penetrating analysis andthe author,by way of a comparison between China and the West,looks closely at the two great inventions from a point of view of cultural development.3 illus. |
