| In the 1960s,Australia took her first step of library automation.The Federal Government gave an official approval in 1981 for setting up the Austrialian Biblioraphic Network(ABN)and thus the library automation entered a new stage from the single system and regional nerwork to a nation-wide,centralized and coordinated development.In 1990,ABN had 1005 users and its data base with its 7.11 million bibliographic data and 10.07 million document address data has since then expanded unceasingly.8 refs. |
