| Established in 1927,IFLA now has 1299 members who are distributed over more than 130 countries and regions from 1928 when its first conference was held up to 1993,50 conferences had been held.The membership of IFLA is now changed from centering around Europe in the past to the whole international library circles and its activities are changed from discussing principles to concrete matters.IFLA has provided a platform for contries in the world to discuss issues of library science of common interest and played a leading role in the special field of library science.2 tabs.6 refs. |
