Abstract:
1238 articles published in the journal,1983-1993,8914 citations and 822 authors are statistically analyzed and the result shows : 89.7% of the articles were of monographic subject matter，99. 9 % were of realistic subjects and 83. 5% were research papers;there wexe 72.3% of the articles published with citations,averaging 16. 2 items per article; 76.1% of the citations were of library science，60. 0% were of journal citations and the majority of the citations (amounting to 99. 3%) were document citatons in English;though there were 67.2% of the articles published with only one author，the extent of co-authorship was comparatively large，and from the point of view of time order，there were 3 "larger-and-largers"，namely;the proportion of library science citations，the quantity of document citations in English and the number of authors of library circles became larger and larger as time went on. Facts tell us : the journal is a mature and core peridical in American,even world library circles. 3 ills. 6 tabs. 2 refs.
