| Abstract: |
| In an environment of rapid growing of digital informa-
tion resources and Internet,the current copyright provisins in the United
States are facing challenges.Emerging technologies make searches,access
and distribution of networked information resources much easier than ever
before,which increases chances of copyright infringement.At the same
time,by using advanced technologies,electronic information providers can
easily block the publics' s access to the resources.In the United States,the
library community has actively participated in the discussions and develop-
ments related to serving public' s interest and complying with the estab-
lished provisions in the electronic environment.This paper presents these
discussions and their implications to the libraries as well.
