| Abstract: |
| Mr.Pi Gaopin(1900-1998),a notable librarian and educator,was born in Jiayu County,Hubei Province.He studied at Boone University,Wuchang,and then taught library science or worked as librarian at Nankai University,Qilu University,Wuhan University,Zhejiang University etc. He was the Editor-in-Chief ofCatalogue of Local Chronicles Collected in Wuhan University Libraryand published several works including Chinese Decimal Classification and its Index.At the age of 96,he published
his last article“On the Reform of Library Services in the Condition of a Market Economy”.
