| The authors discuss some basic characteristics of libraries oriented to network environment, focusing both on functional patterns and on operational patterns.Libraries in the network environment have the characteristics of “Integrating library collections and other agents and developing their own distinctive collections” and the operational patterns of coordinated acquisitions, cooperative cataloguing, open access and interlibrary circulation.11 refs.2 figs. |
