Abstract:
As Vice-Premier Li Lanqing said recently,“The purpose of the development of digital libraries is to efficiently utilize and share library information resources and produce great social benefits. With the National Library of China as the core of digital libraries in China, we should be careful to prevent duplication of efforts”. The National Library of China is responsible for the“China Digital Libraries”Project, which is a core and exemplary project for digital libraries all over China. Withgood preparatorywork, the project isreadyto be implemented and will have great effects on librarianship in China.

      李岚清副总理最近指出 :“建设数字图书馆的主要目的 ,是有效利用和共享图书信息资源 ,有巨大的社会效益。国家图书馆应为我国数字图书馆的核心。要防止重复建设。”中国数字图书馆工程是由国家图书馆实施的全国数字图书馆建设的核心工程 ,对全国数字图书馆建设具有统带作用。中国数字图书馆工程规模大 ,但已具备建设条件。它的建设会对我国图书馆事业产生重大影响。
