| In Western countries, there have been controversies over the retainment and abandonment of main entries. In Japan and China, controversies are focused on the selection of headings. The author thinks that in the present age when computer cataloging is applied widely, main entries can be abandoned. In China, however, the problem is still in discussion. 4 refs. |
