Abstract:
Subject indexing is composed of four elements (document, subject, subject description and subject entry) and three steps (document analysis, subject description and subject analysis). We can regard every element in the subject indexing as a symbol according to the theory of infinite semiosis. 4 figs. 15 refs.

      主题标引过程由4个要素(文献、主题、主题描述和主题款目 )和3个步骤 (文献分析、主题描述和主题分析 )组成。按照无限指号过程的思想,可以把主题标引过程中的每个要素都看成一个符号,每个步骤都起到解释行为的作用,而这个行为联系着连续中的符号。图4。参考文献15。
