| In the age of network, metadata have the following characteristics: from singleness to integration in functions, from comprehensiveness to modularity and from all inclusiveness to random combination in structures, from simpleness to flexible complexity in forms, from all inclusiveness to subject orientation in coverage, from numerical field tags to semantic character type element tags and then to XML in representation methods, and from manual work to automation in data generation. 2 refs. |
