Abstract:
Open access is a free conception and publishing mechanism for the sharing of scholarly information resources. It is originated mainly because the traditional publishing model of subscription-based scholarly journals brings serious obstacles to scholarly communication, and the Internet has greatly lowered the costs of the publishing and dissemination of scholarly journals. In this paper, the authors introduce recent advances in this field. 12 refs.
