| OCLC Terminologies Service is a research project in the field of interoperability. Terminologies Service can be regarded as a Web service relating to various knowledge organization resources, including authority files, subject thesauri, network classifications and classification schedules. The goal of the project is to selectively establish mappings among different controlled thesauri, help document collection institutions to create compatible metadata for their holdings, get terminology resources through any network-based metadata editors, and realize the one-stop access to terminology resources, The authors recommend learning from OCLC and doing researches on different mappings among thesauri. 4 tabs. 3 refs. |
