| Abstract: |
| The author analyzes the studies on the social responsibility of library in international library community, the thoughts on social responsibility of library in Chinese library community and the theories on the professional mission of library, and points out the political and ideological elements, which have disadvantages of existing organization function orientation and inward professional introspection. The author thinks that the social responsibility of library should be active action to meet social needs on the basis of its own characteristics, and library should have the educational responsibility to deliver knowledge. 26 refs. |

| 国际图书馆界关于图书馆社会责任的研究、我国的图书馆社会职能说和图书馆职业使命论，分别含有政治的、意识形态意味，具有依据已有组织结构功能定位和面向自我的职业内省带来的缺陷。图书馆的社会责任，应是它为满足社会需求而采取的基于自身特质的主动作为。重视内容是图书馆的特质。这种特质赋予了图书馆知识信息传递的教育性，这种教育性是图书馆始终不渝的责任。参考文献26。 |
