Abstract:
The author provides a definition for volunteer, and classifies volunteer services into organized and non organized ones. Library volunteers were introduced into China in 2001. They can solve the problem of human resource shortage, promote interaction between libraries and readers and help volunteers to realize their values. In this paper, the author proposes some recommendations for the future development of library volunteer services, such as finding suitable positions, providing good study conditions, providing exchange opportunities and providing opportunites for volunteers to display themselves. 15 refs.

      志愿者又称“义工”,是指在没有任何报酬的情况下,基于道义、信念、良知、同情心和责任心而自愿从事社会公益事业的人或群体。志愿服务有无组织的和有组织的两种形式。2001年,我国图书馆界开始引入志愿者服务。图书馆引入志愿者服务,可弥补图书馆人员的不足,加强图书馆与读者之间的互动,帮助志愿者实现自我增值。要使志愿者工作长久开展下去,应做好以下工作:提供能发挥志愿者最大能力的工作岗位;为志愿者提供学习研究的条件;为志愿者提供交流和沟通的机会;为志愿者提供展示成就的机会。参考文献15。
