| Social inclusion is increasingly being recognized as one of the missions of modern public libraries. This is an inevitable trend of the age of value pluralism. The mission of social inclusion has important significance for public libraries to provide equal services, narrow the digital divide and promote social harmony. Social inclusion and social exclusion are on the opposite sides. The core spirit of social inclusion is tolerance and justice. Social inclusion mission demands that public libraries avoid political exclusion, character exclusion, facilities exclusion and system exclusion. The social inclusion mission of public libraries is non rational, and it may conflict with the mission of social responsibility. 18 refs. |
