Abstract:
This paper reports and analyzes the results of a survey study on library science education in China from the aspects of professional establishment, continuing education and short term training, curriculum, faculty, teaching condition, enrollment and employment, and social needs. It concludes that a complete library science education system with different levels bachelors, masters, doctoral, and post doctoral level has been formed in China. Continuing education and short term training are in great demand, and the enrollment and employment of undergraduates are in good conditions. There is a great need of library professionals. The author also points out that library science education program at universities is unevenly distributed geographically and there is a need for further development due to the demand for information professionals. 3 figs. 5 tabs. 8 refs.

      采用问卷调查法,从图书馆学专业设置、继续教育与短期培训、课程建设、师生情况、教学条件、招生与就业、社会评价与社会需求等方面,对中国大陆50所图书馆学教育机构进行调查研究。调查结果表明,目前我国已经形成了一个涵盖本科、硕士研究生、博士研究生、博士后流动站的层次齐全的图书馆学专业教育体系,继续教育与短期培训市场需求旺盛,本科招生就业情况良好,图书馆学专业人才的社会需求较大;但仍存在高校专业设置地理分布不均衡、博士教育发展缓慢等问题。图3。表5。参考文献8。
