Abstract:
The Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index（CSSCI）project started up in late 1998，and the first version of CSSCI was released in May 2000. The current version of CSSCI includes more than 1.1 million records from academic source and nearly 10 million records from cited literature. The CSSCI system is now considered as an important platform for assessing the scientific research achievements for Humanities and Social Sciences by China Ministry of Education. CSSCI includes three subsystems：data processing，information retrieval and statistical analysis. It can control data quality，improve retrieval efficiency，save citation analysis data，and analyze discipline research features etc. The article also explains in detail how citation index data is used in subject feature analysis，the subject academic growth and the degree of internationalization analysis，research hotspot and tendency exploration，important academic discovery and academic network establishment，etc.2 figs. 10 refs.

      中文社会科学引文索引（CSSCI）启动于1998年底，首次发布于2000年5月，目前共收录期刊529种，收录来源文献110万余条，引用文献近1千万条，已成为教育部评价人文社会科学研究成果的重要平台。CSSCI包括数据处理、信息检索和统计分析三个子系统，具有控制数据质量、提高检索效率、保存引文分析数据、分析学科研究特征等功能。CSSCI的应用价值包括：借助引文索引数据分析学科研究特征；观察学科的成长性和国际化程度；探究学科研究热点和趋势、发现重要学术论著、构建学术网络等研究。图2。参考文献10。
