| Abstract: |
As one of the basic research fields, a thorough study of the library history can advance the innovation of the library science theory, which accords with the developmental needs of the library science The study can be a significant reference for Chinese librarianship at present and in the future by exploring and revealing the laws of the development of Chinese librarianship The paper discusses the following four relevant issues of the library history in China from the views of history, library science and the development of librarianship.
1)On the time span of The library history in China On the one hand, it is better for compilers to make full use of the existing achievements in the library history studies, and also to learn from the latest development of the theoretical research of the library science; on the other hand, it should take advantage of the general history to explore the overall outline and laws of librarianship in all ages The development of the librarianship since 1949 (the founding of the People’s Republic of China), especially the latest development since 1978 (the establishment of the reform and opening-up policy), should be incorporated into the general library history of China The aim is to examine the gain and loss, and thus to draw on experience and lessons.
2) The history of the ancient books collection as an important component of the library history in China In view of essential attributes of the library, the ancient books collection and the modern library both possess such attributes, but of different presentation in different historical phases In view of the evolution of library functions, the ancient books collection and the modern library are the outcomes of library functions’ adaptation to the historical development and changes of social demands.
3)On how to periodize the library history in China According to the characteristics of the development of Chinese history and the library (the ancient books collection), the library history can be divided into three phases: the ancient books collection (pre-Qin period to the middle age of Qing Dynasty), the modern library (the end of Qing Dynasty to 1949), and the contemporary library (since 1949, the founding of the People’s Republic of China).
4) The study of the library history in China in the context of social and historical development Studying the library history of China, we should understand the rise and fall of the librarianship in the context of social politics, economy, technology, culture and education in different historical phases, and discuss the impact that the librarianship had on social and historical changes At the same time, as an important part of the librarianship of the world, the librarianship of China is not only greatly influenced by that of other countries，but also retroacts to others with its unique spirits and techniques 28 refs.

| 全面深入地研究中国图书馆史,总结并揭示中国图书馆发展的规律,可推进图书馆学理论的创新,符合学科发展的需要,对今后的图书馆事业发展也具有借鉴意义。本文从历史学、图书馆学和图书馆事业发展的角度,对中国图书馆史研究的四个相关问题进行探讨。认为:应当适时编纂一部贯通古今的中国图书馆通史；古代藏书史是中国图书馆史的重要组成部分,应将其纳入中国图书馆史研究的范畴里来；根据中国历史的发展特点和图书馆史的内在演变规律,可将中国图书馆史划分为古代藏书(先秦至清中期)、近代图书馆(清末至民国)和现当代图书馆(中华人民共和国成立以来)三个阶段；中国图书馆史的研究应该具有中国社会历史发展的宏观视野,同时也要着眼其与世界图书馆事业的相互作用和影响。参考文献28。 |
