| Abstract: |
The first author of this paper previously authored a paper under the title On Information Security，Network Security and Cyberspace Security. Due to the fact that these three concepts have become the important field of global non traditional security，research on these concepts should not only focus on Chinese semantic interpretation，but also take a global perspective to comprehensively understand the rich connotation，and have a multi angle analysis from the academic，technical and political dimensions. It is a great help to understand the logical starting point for information security global governance as well as in the strategic layout，scientific management and practice instruction of China’s national information security so as to realize the collaboration and interaction between national governance and global governance on the subject of information security. In this way，further progress could be made in information cyberspace development; meanwhile，the theoretical ground of the logic starting point of the concept could be laid in order to build the discourse system，platform and channel to facilitate China’s information security exchanges with overseas countries while constructing global cyberspace community. Based on previous findings，this paper elaborates on the connotation of and interlinks among information security，network security and cyberspace security from the perspective of related disciplines，technology and policy via subject search，frequency analysis，visual mapping and semantic relation in both Chinese and English corpus. This paper is designed to enhance the basic researches of information security by making further studies on shared meanings，differences and changes of these concepts in different languages patterns.
In summary，information security，network security and cyberspace security are in one big interrelated concept circle while keeping its unique features in respective smaller ones. The word frequency and associative analysis applied in this paper offer good insights into the following questions：What words are included in these interrelated concept circles? How are the connections between these concepts，strong or weak? What varies in concept circles from Chinese to English? Answers to these questions will lead us to a wider and more grounded perspective and a more inclusive and substantial breakthrough point. These concept circles in Chinese more focus on macroscopic and mesoscopic researches on strategy and management. In the Chinese context，the knowledge of information security can be traced back to as early as Shang dynasty，even before Qin Dynasty. In China’s history，information security started with concerns about someone’s personal safety，then gradually evolved to the communication of military intelligence regarding national security，which highlights people centered and information cyberspace oriented state sovereignty. While in the English language，information security attaches greater importance to network security and cyberspace security，the latter at the top of the policy agenda. Despite some ongoing macroscopic researches，more efforts are put into mesoscopic and microscopic studies of technology and policy. Comparative analysis of concept circles in the Chinese and English context would deepen understanding and exchanges in terms of the concept circles. In the era of big data，we have renewed our attention to data security in practice but still fall short of theoretical researches in the field. It is foreseeable that in the coming years，information security，network security and cyberspace security will fully bring data security to the forefront in the future research programs and practice. 13 figs. 8 tabs. 33 refs.
