Abstract:
Comparative studies on Chinese and foreign library science education is an important research field of comparative librarianship. Research on the methodology and other theoretical questions of comparative studies on Chinese and foreign education is conducive to promoting its standardized development, thus stepping up the practical value for Chinese library science education. Based on comparative education and other disciplines, some fundamental theoretical issues including research questions, methods and the mission of comparative studies on Chinese and foreign library science education, were discussed in this paper. 
Firstly, in terms of research objects and questions, it is necessary to make comparisons with more countries to explore diverse ways and multiple possibilities concerning the development of library science education. Additionally, the research domains and questions also need to be expanded, along with the necessity of conducting comparative studies on continuing education and library science education research in both China and other countries. Even more, research projects could be found from practical dilemma with the purpose to solve realistic problems faced by library science education, and comparative studies on library science education history need to be strengthened, such as international comparative studies on library school closings. Also, more attention should be paid to common problems and the problems related with “people” in Chinese and foreign library education so as to explore the humanistic concerns in library science education. Secondly, in terms of research methods and materials, apart from universal social science research methods, it is necessary to explore new methods, theoretical frameworks and research perspectives, and the theories and methods of other disciplines, especially the comparative subjects such as comparative education and comparative history, could be used. Furthermore, investigations from social and cultural perspectives should be strengthened in order to analyze the effects exerted by social contexts and cultural factors on library science education, along with the essentiality of collecting and utilizing primary historical materials and data more so as to promote the standard of research process and the reliability of research conclusion. Thirdly, as for the mission and orientation, its major mission aims at exploring the fusion path of Chinese and foreign library science education. Comparative studies on Chinese and foreign library science education serves as the bridge between “bringing in” and “going out”, also acting as a “sieve” with the function of quality control. Thus, it becomes an alternative way between mechanical “linguistic adoption” and original creation, making it an essential factor to insist on local concerning, as well as reflection and “mutual learning”. Moreover, modes of research, such as the variation mode from comparative literature, should be innovated and enriched, and experience reference should be moved towards theory generation so as to improve the theoretical innovation of library science. Also, a deep understanding of the development path of library science education should be acquired and new questions of library science research in different countries could be found. It is also of great importance to provide practical knowledge, solutions and guidelines for exploring the future direction of library science education and library science education reform, thus facilitating the sustainable development of Chinese library science education accordingly. 57 refs.

      文章借鉴比较教育学等学科理论,探讨中外图书馆学教育比较研究的问题、方法与使命等基本理论问题。在研究对象与问题方面,需要丰富比较国家选取的多样性,拓展比较的范畴和问题域,从现实困境中寻找研究课题,强化图书馆学教育史的比较研究,关注中外图书馆学教育中的共性问题、关涉“人”的问题。在研究方法与资料方面,除使用通用的社会科学研究方法外,亟待采用新方法,注重借鉴其他比较学科的理论与方法,加强社会与文化层面的考察,以及对于档案等原始资料和一手数据的使用。在研究使命与取向上,中外图书馆学教育比较研究的主要使命在于探索图书馆学教育中外融合的路径,因此要坚持本土关照的研究取向,将反思与“互鉴”贯穿其中,创新和丰富研究模式,从经验借鉴走向理论生成,以期获得对学科教育发展路径的深层认知,为探寻学科教育未来走向提供行动知识,从而促进其可持续发展。参考文献57。 
