their satisfaction and confirmation of expectation from prior social reading apps use; 2) college
students’ perceived usefulness in reading is important in predicting their continuance intention
of social reading apps while the perceived usefulness in socialization is not; 3) college students’
intention to continue using social reading apps is not only affected by the constructs considered in
ECM,but also by other factors such as subjective norm; 4) besides having statistically significant
impact on college students’ continuance intention, the subjective norm also greatly influences
their post acceptance perceived usefulness in both reading and socialization.
The study not only indicates that ECM is powerful in explaining college students’ continuance
intention of social reading apps, but also enriches the model by incorporating subjective norm
into the original one. Besides, the results are valuable and insightful in providing us an in-
depth understanding of the nature of social reading, the relationship between reading and
socialization, and the measures improving the users’ retention rate of social reading apps.
Meanwhile, the study suffers from several limitations. For instance,it was a cross-sectional study
which restricted the comparison of users’ pre-acceptance and post-acceptance perceptions; it
designated intention as the dependent variable of interest rather than behavior, and the research
sample in the present study was confined to college students due to the limited research resources.
These issues might be addressed in the future work.
From interaction dimensions to interaction function:Developing a theoretical
model for evaluating interaction in digital libraries

So far, many researchers have done research on digital library evaluation, mostly focusing on
usability issues or conceptual framework for comprehensively evaluating digital libraries. These
studies have produced many criteria or indicators for evaluation. However, the agreement on these
criteria or indicators is still lacking. Such situation weakens the implications of these studies.
In particular, much less studies focus on evaluating interaction function of digital libraries.
Thus, this study attempts to identify the critical criteria or factors affecting users’ evaluation of
interaction function of digital libraries and make the evaluation more effective and efficient.
For the purpose, the study explores user-digital library interaction in three dimensions, such
as information, technology, and tasks,by which to examine the relationships between users’
interaction with these dimensions and their evaluation of interaction function of digital libraries.
An experiment was conducted to explore the issue. The study performed card sorting to identify
four topics that potential participants were interested. Then, based on the topics, the study designed
four simulated work task situations. In addition, the participants were required to bring a real
