basis of Japanese Bibliography and trained many bibliographers,among whom,Kikuya Nagasawa
was famous for his studies on Chinese books,and Kazuma Kawase was famous for his studies on
Japanese books. They had made important contributions to introducing rare books that were newly
discovered and to exchanging experiences with Chinese bibliographers. As Masajiro Takigawa
said,“Chinese Bibliography and Japanese Bibliography are inseparably related to each other.”“To
study Chinese books kept in Japan is not only the responsibility of Japanese Bibliographers;
Chinese Bibliographers should also make an effort.”
Chinese bibliographers should pay more attention to Japanese Bibliography in two
aspects:first,to conduct a systematic study of the achievement that Japanese bibliographers had
made in the field of Chinese Bibliography; second,to learn the advanced points from Japanese
Bibliography,the one formed later.
