| The legal system of public libraries in Britain consists of three levels. The first one is Public Libraries Act, the second is governmental regulation and policy, which make up the main part of the legal system, and the third is the regulatory documents issued by professional associations. The legal system of public libraries in Britain is characterized by its clearly defined structures and indicators, concerns about the community, and timely revision. 4 tabs. 13 refs. |
