| Abstract: |
| This paper discusses some important problems which special libraries in China face:there is not a system of sheocial libraries;there is not an association of special libraries;values and functions of special libraries have ont been fully recognised; education and training of special librarians are not sufficiently developed.From the point of view of social reform in China and by a comparison with the special librarianship in developed countries, the author puts forward some strategic recommendations for the development of special libraries in China.13 refs.
