Abstract:
Publishing has a positive effect on national governance. Will reading newspapers,magazines and books have an influence on individuals perception of national governance performance? At present,research has not established a relationship between the two,but this connection is a micro mapping of the relationship between publishing,nationwide reading promotion and social governance. Therefore,this paper attempts to explore the impact of reading on the perception of social governance performance from individuals. The individual's micro perception of social governance is reflected in the sense of gain,happiness and participation. We use the data of CGSS2015,adopt Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and construct a quantitative regression model,to study the internal relationship between personal printing media use and social governance efficacy.
The results show that the use of printed media has an overall role in promoting the perception of national governance performance,which may be related to the ability of printed media to track political affairs continuously,the positive affection of deep reading on political cognition,and the close relationship between printed media reading and political trust. But there is a certain threshold effect. From the perspective of education level,reading behavior has a positive impact on the perception of social governance performance of residents with middle education level,but has no significant impact on residents with low education level and high education level,presenting an “inverted U shaped” relationship. From the perspective of income level,reading behavior has the strongest effect on the perceived social governance performance of residents in the lower middle income class. In terms of the difference between urban and rural areas of residence,reading behavior has a positive impact on the perception of social governance performance of both urban and rural residents in China,and has a stronger impact on urban residentsSuggestions:Firstly,re examine the function of publishing from the perspective of improving social governance,attach importance to participating in the capacity modernization of national governance system by taking publication reading as a cultural approach,further affirm the necessity of reading promotion,and thoroughly implement the policy of promoting reading for all people. Secondly,in the practice of reading promotion,attention should be paid to the transformation of the audience from the elite class to the common peopleFinally,facing the trend of digital transformation of publishing and reading,it is necessary to treat the relationship between emerging networks and traditional media with caution,carefully examine reading content,and strive to create a good online reading environment,so as to give better play the positive role of reading in social governance.
This paper only selects single year data and only discusses the frequency of newspapers,magazines and books reading,not involving variables such as publication types and reading tendencies. However,it demonstrates the relationship between publishing and national governance from individual's reading and finds the threshold effect between reading and the perception of national governance performance,which have practical significance to rethink the political power of reading in the digital age. 8 tabs. 51 refs.

      在国家治理体系与治理能力现代化的语境下,出版与阅读发挥着提升公民综合素质的重要作用。为探究阅读行为如何影响个体对社会治理的绩效感知,本文基于CGSS2015的数据,实证分析个体阅读行为与社会治理绩效感知之间的内在关联。研究发现:阅读行为对整体的社会治理绩效感知具有促进作用,但存在一定的阈值效应;从受教育程度来看,阅读行为对中等教育水平居民的社会治理绩效感知有正向影响,对低教育水平和高教育水平居民影响不显著,呈现“倒U型”关系;从收入水平来看,阅读行为对中等偏下收入阶层居民的社会治理绩效感知影响效果最强;从居住地的城乡差异来看,阅读行为对城镇居民和农村居民的社会治理绩效感知均呈正向影响,对城镇居民的影响效果更强。建议:从社会治理提升角度重新审视出版功能,重视以出版物阅读为文化途径参与国家治理体系和治理能力现代化,进一步肯定阅读推广的必要性,深入落实全民阅读推广政策;在阅读推广实践上,应注重受众群体从精英阶层到普通民众的转向;面对出版与阅读向数字转型的时代趋势,需慎重看待新兴网络与传统媒介的关系,审慎把关阅读内容,努力营造良好的网络阅读环境,更好地发挥阅读在社会治理中的积极作用。表8。参考文献51。
