statistics and improves the matching accuracy significantly.
Journal collection data in December 2013 were exported from the ExLibris of the Wuhan
University Library. The journal collection data contained four fields as title, ISSN, eISSN, and its
temporal coverage. And then, the four fields of OA journals were obtained by accessing six major OA
databases: Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) (Directory of Open Access Journals, 2013),
Public Library of Science (PLoS) (Public Library of Science, 2013), BioMed Central (BioMed
Central Ltd, 2014), Japan Science and Technology Information Aggregator-Electronic (J-STAGE)
(Japan Science and Technology Agency, 2014) Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO)
(Scientific Electronic Library Online, 2014), and Bioline International (BLI) (Bioline International,
2014). Data cleaning procedures, which had been carried out in the fourth and fifth steps of sample
citations table were repeated on the collection table. Figure 1 displays the complete workflow.
