Library services are therefore aimed at facilitating and inspiring people’s creativity and innovation.
We should also be committed to creating new learning, communication, collaboration and sharing
space for various types of innovation and creation activities, and provide more targeted open
and shared resources according to users’ innovation needs. Libraries should serve as a bridge for
information communication between different institutions, groups and individuals, and partner-
seekers for innovation cooperation, and offer intellectual property rights consultation services for
the transformation and utilization of various innovative and creative achievements. Third, libraries
should enhance the collection, organization and development of local cultural resources, such as
local history and biographies. In terms of library event planning and space design, local cultural
elements should be considered. Libraries can thus be embedded in people’s life with the creation
of space for local cultural heritage, communication and sharing, and the provision of services and
resources that focus on the local life, events and topics of common concern.
Today, guided by common values and through close cooperation and joint action, the
international library community is playing an increasingly important role in the sustainable
development of countries and regions. The Chinese librarianship constitutes an important part
of the international librarianship. Chinese librarians have been actively engaging in international
library affairs, and following closely the developmental trend of the international library
community. We will keep pace with the times and the world, adhere to the development path with
Chinese characteristics, and work together with colleagues worldwide to share great visions and
draw a grand blueprint for a better future.
