but its quality would be greatly reduced. It may also affect the viability and competitiveness of
information science with Chinese characteristics in the current situation. Making full use of big
data technology, solving intelligence problems scientifically and realistically, and dynamically
adjusting the methodology system of information science with Chinese characteristics are
the key measures for its development to enter a mature period. It could not only point out the
development direction of information science, but also respond to the crisis of information science
discipline. Based on the above analysis, this paper puts forward the following proposition on the
methodological reform of information science in China:

Proposition No.16: Big data technology has reshaped the external technical environment of information
science. This has promoted the reform and innovation of the method system of information science with
Chinese characteristics, and also made the discipline enter a mature stage.

1.5 The internal logical relationship between the categories and propositions

Based on the above analysis, this paper summarizes the internal logical relationship between
the categories and propositions of information science with Chinese characteristics, as shown in
Figure 1.
Information science theories and methods are the pillar fields of information science with
Chinese characteristics. They are also the root of the discipline. Without theories and methods, the
research is useless. Information science theories and methods in China, on the basis of introducing
the theoretical methods of Western developed countries, have been constantly absorbing the
knowledge, theories and methods of economics, politics, management and computer disciplines,
and forming theories and methods with local characteristics. The theoretical part includes
zero growth theory, information exchange theory, information management chain and other
characteristic theories. The method part forms a methodological system adapted to local research.
With the development of socialism in China’s national conditions, they not only guide the research
and discipline development of information science, but also explore a way of theories and methods
that are applicable under China’s national conditions.
Information organization and retrieval are the key fields in which information science with
Chinese characteristics caught up with foreign countries, and they are also an important foundation
for its development. It could be said that there is no progress in information science without
methods. With the rapid development of computers, mobile devices, and Internet of Things, the
so-called information explosion has become more and more serious. The information organization
and retrieval methods of traditional documents are difficult to solve the contradiction between
intelligence accumulation and intelligence utilization in the big data environment. In order to
deeply explore the potential value of big data and further implement the technology transcendence
strategy in the field of information science, intelligence researchers have been constantly trying
