NIU Li, GAO Chenxiang, ZHANG Yufeng, YAN Shi, XU Yongjun & LI Anrunze / Discovering, reorganizing 177
and storytelling: paths and methods of archives research on the perspective of digital humanities
platform-based integration and development of the above methods with the help of knowledge
engineering technology system, and build WU Baokang’s archival knowledge base. It vividly
shows the lofty beliefs and academic character of the older generation of graphic file scholars
represented by WU Baokang, reflects the value connotation of WU Baokang’s archival data,
and also verifies the effectiveness of the research path and method proposed in this paper to a
certain extent.
At the same time, there is also some room for improvement in this study. At the application level,
the archival knowledge base built guided by the methodology proposed by this institute is not yet
perfect in form and function, and we will further explore the generation of dynamic knowledge
graphs, the construction of narrative frameworks and templates, the full automation of archival
data storytelling, and the immersive experience and utilization of archival stories. At the theoretical
level, the scope of research in this paper is limited to the development and utilization of archival
data and academic research, and the proposed primitives are still insufficient in terms of quantity,
systematization and depth of interpretation, and the complete archival research methodology
system from the perspective of DH is still under dynamic construction.
Taking the research path and method proposed in this paper and the supporting theories and
concepts behind it as the starting point, more interactive issues about DH and archival research
can be raised. At present, archival research at home and abroad has gradually moved from closed
material integration and inference to open data correlation and development. The combination of
DH concepts and technologies with the logic of postmodernist thinking, its inherent reflection and
criticism, make some of the original research orientations, methods and results of the discipline
face revision and reorganization, give archival research sufficient adjustment space and expand
dimensions, and gradually neutralize the involution effect in previous theoretical research. In
addition, at the internal level, the proposal of new paths and methods of archival research from DH
perspective can connect the macro discussion and underlying practice of archival DH research in
the current academic circles, and bridge the existing research faults. Among disciplines at the same
level, archival science, library science and information science in the DH environment should find
more convergence points at the level of research paths and methods, and discover the similarity
of discipline research logic and research purpose based on the similarity of the characteristics of
research objects.
