| The amalgation of the two was take place in October 1995. The administrative leadership was changed and the merged unit is now under the control of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Municipal Committee of Shanghai. The paper introduces the status before the amalgation and the historical，economic and cultural and geographical background of the amalgation，the significances and impacts of which are also reviewed and predicted. 14 refs. |
