10,733 scholarly articles received 37,159 Weibos. Each article got on average 3.46 Weibos.
However, from bar chart in Figure 3, we see 65.48% of the articles got only 1 Weibo, 12.87% of
the articles got only 2 Weibos, 5.5% of the articles got only 3 Weibos and the percentage of articles
that receive no more than 3 Weibos is as high as 83.84%. Meanwhile, articles that receive more
than 10 Weibos occupy only 5.86%. These facts demonstrate that most Weibo discussed articles
received relatively low Weibo attention. Line chart reflected the other facade, saying that 1% of
the articles received 30% Weibo attention, 5.1% of the articles received 50% Weibo attention, and
33.4% of the articles received 80% Weibo attention. The line went steeply high and then slowly
flat, which indicated few portion of scholarly articles obtained extremely high Weibo altmetrics
indicator. The top 5 Weiboed articles are listed in Table 1 as cases.
