1)Due to the impact of political environment, a new discourse style used to commentating
librarianship was formed in 1957. In the new discourse style, compliments were taken as the theme
and problems were ignored, which definitely did not conform to academic standards. The discourse
style was ended after 40 years and replaced by strategic research of the librarianship. 2)Originated
in 1959, rural library construction was constrained by economic development and the self-solved
mechanism of books purchasing funds came into being. The lack of continuous government
funds resulted in its non-sustainable development. 3)The phenomenon of “paid services” arose.
Because of lack of funds, libraries had to adopt the mechanism of paid services, which had been
a widespread service mode of Chinese public libraries for quite a long time. After entry into the
new century, our economic strength has increased greatly. The theoretical community made great
efforts to intensify research and appeal of public service philosophies which finally prompted the
government to increase library funds supply. 4)Originated from 1982, library law research started
under the influence of international library laws. Rooted in Chinese library practice, the research
produced some results which played an important role in the library law making. Meanwhile,
the theoretical community made studies on other library legislative work and contributed to the
making of laws and regulations of library operations. 5)Begun in 2006, the exploration of public
library service system was directed to the long-standing unsolved problem-lack of sustainable
management mechanism and low service capabilities in grass-root public libraries. By constructing
public library service system, the problem was solved effectively through enhancement of funds
and service capabilities. By the above retrospect, we can find the relation of interdependence
between library theories and librarianship, in which the interaction was not positive in the
beginning but gradually matured.

Exploring technical system and theoretical structure of digital humanities

The data-driven research paradigm is being applied in the studies of humanities. This is forming
the methodological community of digital humanities, with showing characteristic interdisciplinarity
and interdisciplinary emergence. The methodological community is supported by the technical
system of digital humanities, with affecting the theoretical structure of digital humanities. While
the digital humanities develop quickly, the technical system and theoretical structure of digital
humanities need to be established. For clarifying the issues, the authors suggested a framework to
unify both technical and theoretical core.
By reviewing published articles and present views, the authors concluded total characteristics
of digital humanities. It is pointed out that the technical system of digital humanities include
