XIA Lixin, BAI Yang & ZHANG Xinyi / Integration and reconstruction: A new development pattern of the smart library 055

library and the essence of “smart”. The smartness of the library should be aimed at promoting the
process of human intellectual activities, fully integrating and reconstructing the various elements
of the library to build a smart learning environment which can stimulate people’s creativity.
Specifically, it is to reorganize and integrate the core elements of the library of “resource”, “people”
and “space” around the users’ knowledge needs using the reasonable techniques, and to construct
a process from spatial perception and fine-grained knowledge organization to smart service.
However, the individual smart library cannot form a comprehensive and smart environment, so it
is necessary to expand and integrate to the entire library industry, carrying out knowledge sharing
brought by the intelligence of the masses, shouldering the social responsibility of intelligence
communication, and persistently discovering the knowledge needs from society and users to
promote the “big library” smart service based on smart services innovation. Therefore, based
on the core concept of the library, this study reinterprets the essence of the library’s “smartness”
and the form of smart library, so as to provide a new direction for constructing and applying the
               concept of the smart library.
