map construction. Due to the huge knowledge network, users’ needs are different. With the
knowledge map and related technology, the knowledge structure and related resource system that
meets the users’ needs could be automatically extracted and constructed to provide users with
intensive knowledge services. As a result, the networked organization of knowledge enables users
to construct cognition through the knowledge points and related knowledge that users need, or
conduct smart activities based on the cross-disciplinary knowledge system for work or problem
solving instead of in the way of traditional disciplines.
3.3 Knowledge utilization and value-added services
Through the construction and perception of space, the smart library provides users with a
comfortable learning environment without interference, and an innovative space for exploring
problems, which improves the users’ space experience to a great extent. At the same time, the
combination of smart space and knowledge resources could construct a contextual simulation of
knowledge, which is beneficial to users’ further understanding and cognition of knowledge. From
the perspective of the construction of knowledge network, the library’s smart resource environment
is composed of the service centering on knowledge discovery and personalized knowledge map,
which makes users no longer bothered to filter knowledge from the complex resource ocean. In
addition, with the smart environment of resources, the library can also carry out think tank service,
providing development reports and decision support to governments, enterprises, institutions and
individuals. Therefore, under the support of related technologies, the smart service environment is
constructed to activate the library’s smart service capability driven by the users’ demand, attracting
and stimulating potential user groups, and promoting knowledge utilization and innovation.
The new smart library learning environment can provide users with a full range of smart
service support, which is convenient for all kinds of intelligence activities. When users are
engaged in intelligence activities, it can also promote new knowledge and service innovation,
and realize value-added knowledge and value-added library service. In knowledge creation, the
records and ideas generated by users through the library knowledge network could be integrated
into the construction of the knowledge network again, so that the library knowledge network
and the personal knowledge network can be integrated. In this way, the library can understand
each user better. In addition, the discovery of new knowledge produced by the library and the
results produced by the collision of users’ intelligence could contribute to semantic publishing
based on the existing knowledge network, so that new knowledge can constantly grow in the
knowledge network. In service innovation, with the help of users’ annotation, evaluation and other
behavior record in the whole process of resource using, the library could optimize the allocation
of resources, select valuable knowledge and introduce more resources needed by users so as to
maximize the efficiency of knowledge utilization. Moreover, users’ feedback would help to update
and innovate library’s service in order to continuously support the users’ intelligence activities.
