with the help of the field tension of DH. At present, at the level of DH methodology, famous DH
scholars Unsworth, Anderson and others have put forward different views, including different types
of primitives such as discovery, collecting, annotating, comparing, and delivering, thus producing
“five primitives theory” and “seven primitives theory” as well [22, 23] . LIU Wei and YE Ying further
corresponded the five primitives in the “Five Primitives Theory” to specific technical systems,
[24]
clarified their logical relationships, and improved the basic technical route of DH research . In
terms of the methodological system for the development and utilization of archival resources, NIU
Li and other scholars first proposed the “PDU” model including digital preservation, knowledge
[25]
discovery and visual utilization . Based on the general methodology system of DH research and
the development and utilization of archival resources in the digital era summarized by scholars,
we propose a methodological system of archival research (see Figure 2) from the DH perspective,
through the mapping, reinterpretation and research scope limitation of DH primitives, which is
combined with the basic characteristics of archival resources.

In view of the insufficient application of archival theories and methods in DH field, it is necessary
to find the docking domain between existing archival research methods and DH research methods,
and sort out the DH research method system with archival characteristics on this basis. The “PDU”
model focuses on maintaining the credibility of archival resources at the management level, and
