Luchuan LIU & Kai SUN / Analysis of the relationship between microblogging users’ affections and users’ satisfaction 141
the ECM-ISC and other theories have only analyzing user satisfaction and using behavior from the
perspective of view of rational cognition like expectation confirmation and ignoring the impact of
affections on user satisfaction. We find 16 kinds of affections that micro-blog users most frequently
experience, in which there are 9 kinds of positive affections and 7 kinds of negative affections.
Both the frequency of occurrence and affective intensity of positive affections are higher than
those of negative affections. Positive affections significantly affect user satisfaction. In particular,
we find that surprise in positive affections is the most important factor affecting user satisfaction
and use behaviors. Micro-blog user experience has a regulatory function on the relationship
between affections and satisfaction. Micro-blogging enterprises should focus on user’s affections
by enhancing user’s positive affective experience and improving user satisfaction. User activity
can be thereby increased, and continued use behavior can be promoted.
This research demonstrates that IS user affective experience is an important variable affecting
user satisfaction, but gives no further analysis on the factors affecting user’s affective experience.
For entertaining information systems like micro-blog, are there some unique factors that affect
user’s affections? As for the current literature search we have done, there are no relevant research
results. We will have further discussions on factors that affect user’s affections in the future.
