reading project needs to actively popularize the application of reading technology products and
reduce the imbalance of young adults’ reading information contact brought by the technical
            environment through media literacy education.
At the same time, reading promotion practitioners can segment and target reading promotion
arrangements to promote their reading behavior to a beneficial transition based on the four
classifications identified by our study. For example, for the condition of the traditional readers
aren’t so active in pre-reading stage, we can provide service about book recommendation and
book sharing in the stage of book acquisition, which would be helpful to enrich their reading
behavior and satisfy them at the same time. For passive hybrid readers who love read socially but
rarely use online channel, we can use reading decision guidance and offline reading sessions and
other offline activities to promote their participation in online reading activities and improve the
reading experience. For the condition of standard hybrid readers are inactive in social behavior
during reading process, we can provide them with multi-reading resources, promoting their deep
experience of reading communication value through sharing meetings, reader exchanges and
other ways. As for high-engaged hybrid readers, we can provide them with multi-channel reading
information and diversified reading communication platform to fully meet their reading activity
needs and reading value pursuit. At the same time, we also ought to promote the interaction
between the different levels of hybrid reading based on the segmentation of the readership. In
particular, we need to encourage high-engaged hybrid readers to influence and drive traditional
readers, which is beneficial to bridging the reading gap.
Third, we should carry out the whole observation of hybrid reading behavior, exploring the law
of hybrid reading behavior, and scientifically intervening in the transformation process of reading
            behavior among young adults.
This study found that the transformation of reading behavior of contemporary young adults is a
chaotic process, and different readers have different transformation paths. However, they have a
rich demand for activities in the three links of reading behavior. If we appropriately guide young
adults’ reading behavior in some links during reading process, using various media channels to do
more diverse reading promotion activities, the nationwirde reading is bound to do better with less
effort. However, the existing study of reading behavior is more to digital reading as an independent
research object, separating the online reading and offline reading to observe, so that the reading
promotion design lack theoretical guidance. Therefore, it is urgent to study the reading behavior
for the whole process of hybrid reading.
At the same time, we also paid attention to the reading resources involved in hybrid reading, not
only including reading objects themselves, but also evaluation resources, experience resources,
knowledge resources, reader information, communication platforms and channels, extended
texts, derivative carriers and other resources. These resources are flowing and aggregated within
the three stages of reading behavior, and deeply affect the reader’s reaction structure. Reading
promotion researchers should pay attention to the flow law of reading resources and the law
