digital humanities. Fourthly, we should build digital humanities laboratories and other facilities to
provide infrastructure, communication space, and technical guidance for interdisciplinary digital
humanities research in universities, and provide digital humanities services and support by the
concept such as data platforms.
The existing research results demonstrate that digital humanities research has obvious
interdisciplinary characteristics, covering disciplines in the fields of humanities, social sciences,
and natural sciences. In addition to the traditional humanities, the library, information and archives
field, as an important member of the new interdisciplinary digital humanities, participates in digital
humanities research with multiple identities after knowledge transformation and repositioning.
Firstly, it plays the role of “user”, utilizing digital technology to make the aspects of resource
[18]
construction, knowledge services, and spatial design more “intelligent” . Secondly, it plays the
role of “cooperator”, “coordinator” and “supporter”. Data is the most basic guarantee for digital
humanities research. With its inherent advantages of information resource storage, the library,
information and archives field can provide humanities scholars with the opportunity of data mining
[5]
from structured data to unstructured data .
For researchers in the field of the library, information and archives, it is necessary to follow
the direction of the construction of the new liberal arts whether from the perspectives of the user,
collaborator or supporter. They should cooperate closely with humanities scholars and computer
professionals based on the understanding of humanities research results. On the one hand, they can
strengthen communication with humanities scholars on the basis of digital humanities projects.
More digital tools and methods can be developed from the perspective of humanities research
by accurately grasping information needs and research thinking of humanities scholars. On the
other hand, through digital humanities projects, more humanities scholars are attracted to realize
the charm of digital humanities research by way of cooperation. It can not only produce more
valuable results through cooperation, promote the breadth and depth of digital humanities, but also
further highlight the interdisciplinary characteristics of digital humanities, adding vitality to its
development.
3.2 The library, information and archives field utilizes its professionalism to promote
digital humanities evaluation
The evaluation of digital humanities is a highly professional task. Both the construction of indicator
system and the evaluation practice require professional knowledge, professional personnel, and
professional organization.
(1) Advantage of professional knowledge. The research and construction of academic evaluation
systems is the professional expertise of the library, information and archives field that has
accumulated rich experience in practice. Researchers in this field have advantages of knowledge in
designing and compiling corresponding evaluation index systems. They are familiar with metadata
